A Free Programme to Help Researchers Work Better with Farmers. And Why You Should Sign Up
The Royal Agricultural University’s ‘Bridging Fields: Working Effectively with Farmers’ programme is designed enable researchers from all disciplines and at all levels to work successfully with farmers. And it’s completely free.

What will you learn?
The programme covers both the theoretical underpinnings of farmer-led research (participatory action research, co-production, user-centred design, indigenous knowledge) and the practical skills that make projects succeed in the field. That means things like accessing farmer networks, active listening and facilitation, designing on-farm trials, securing funding, and making sure collaborations are genuinely beneficial.
How do you get involved?
You can register your interest in upcoming events and 2026 residencies via the RAU’s programme webpage.
