The Game Farmers Association and the Allerton Project, in partnership with the AMAST Network, are hosting a crucial workshop on antimicrobial use and resistance in game bird production this Thursday, 23 October 2025.
Bringing Industry Stakeholders Together
The workshop will bring together game farmers, gamekeepers, veterinarians, researchers, and industry representatives to address one of the sector’s most pressing challenges: managing antimicrobial use and antimicrobial resistance, with particular emphasis on Hexamita infections.
The day-long event is organised around three focused sessions exploring different perspectives:
- Producer Perspective: Game farmers and gamekeepers will share practical realities from the field
- Prescriber Perspective: Veterinary experts will discuss clinical approaches and practices
- Research & Innovation: Researchers will present past recent developments in disease understanding and management
Attendees will also enjoy a tour of the award-winning Allerton Project demonstration farm, which researches sustainable farming methods and their impact on wildlife.
